About Centre Racing

Centre Racing is licensed by the Northern Territory Government. It was founded as a division of Centrebet in 1992. In 1998 Centrebet was acquired by Jupiters Limited, a public company with interests in casinos, hotels, networked gaming and hardware/software development in Australia. 

On May 1 2000, Terry Lillis purchased the horse racing division from Centrebet and thus CentreRacing was born.

CentreRacing is owned by Terry Lillis, a legendary Australian bookmaker for almost 40 years, and the Founder of Centrebet.

Terry Lillis established Centrebet as the first licensed telephone sports bookmaker in Australia. In 1996 it became the first organisation in Australia, and just the second in the world, to bet online. Terry sold 100% of Centrebet in November 1998 and, as a condition of the sale, observed a period of exclusion from the sports betting world.
